Certain fat deposits stored under the skin can prove to be stubborn and diet resistant. These tend to be more remote from the blood supply and circulation and are therefore impeded in the processes of metabolism which would normally enable the fat to be released into the bloodstream.
Although not overweight, we may have an excess of this resistant fat in certain areas of the body which can spoil our appearance and body shape.
Common areas of these stubborn fatty stores can be found on the lower parts of the tummy, love handles, hips and inner or outer thighs.
Also, as we age, the pattern of fat stored on our face shifts. High cheeks due to the fullness of the fatty layer under the skin reflect a younger, oval shaped face. |
